Motivation Is Key

I am going to let you in on a secret. Starting your fitness journey is more like running a marathon. It is not a sprint. You must pace yourself because quick fixes? They are not the way to lasting health. If you are ready to step into the gym—or even if home workouts are your thing—figuring out what clicks with you is key. When you finally make the decision to motivate yourself to walk into that gym and begin your journey to work out, you need to figure out what works for you. It is great to set a goal to want to look like your favorite athlete or fitness professional. However, that is unattainable. Why?

Your average person like me does not have that luxury because we have the stress of working a regular full-time job.

I remember looking at fitness icons and thinking, ‘I want that.’ But here is the reality check: those athletes and fitness gurus we admire often eat, sleep, and breathe their training because, well, it is their job. For us regular folks with 9 to 5 commitments, those expectations can feel like a bar set too high.

So, one day it hit me. I needed to stop trying to be someone else. I started to craft a routine that fits my schedule, my body, and my goals. Remember, your average person like me, does not live to exercise—we exercise to enhance our lives. And guess what? When you begin to work out at your own pace and aim to look like the best version of yourself, that is when the magic happens. That is how this average Joe started his journey.
